Audi Service in Honolulu

I took my 98 Audi G-4 to their Beretania St. service department to have a new wiper motor installed. They then tried to sell me on a lot of other work which is to be expected, except that I was already aware that much of it was not needed. I ended up just getting the wiper motor replaced and in addition to exorbitant labor costs (which is in some ways to be expected) they charged me an alleged list price for the wiper motor of $335.65. The list price for that exact same item on the internet is $245.00 in at least two locations (8D1 955 113 B), and at both, it is also discounted to under $100.00, and sent with free shipping.
When I informed the service representative I was going to file complaints about these items, I was told in effect to be their guest.
But if you accept being charged 3 times as much for parts than you would pay elsewhere, by all means go to Audi.

Labor/shop charges

Those two will kill your wallet because its costly. You got to expect charges like that when you own a luxury vehicle.

More about Audi Service and practices

Someone shilling for Audi said I should expect such additional charges because I had a luxury auto. the G-4 is not a luxury model and in any case that's no excuse for padding prices. But what i didn't mention earlier is that they also refused to give me a safety check clearance unless I approved another $800.00 work on tie rods. I took the car to another shop where they said I didn't need the tie rod work, and it wasn't required for the safety check clearance in any case. They put the car up on the rack, checked it out thoroughly and gave me the sticker. So Audi lied two more times in trying to get me to have work done. Feedback on how to improve service? Stop lying to the customers.

Ditto

Its always good to get a second opinion from another service dept. they charge about 125.00/hr labor and thats not even including parts and shop fees.
